School drama aka Reluctantly a Phoenix part Deux

Authors Note: This can be seen as a continuation of my post Reluctantly a Phoenix from last August.

You may ask, what's the drama queen upset about now... the complete and total lack of communication at the University of Phoenix.

Last week, I started one of my last 10 classes, Mathematics Methods. I had heard some negative things about the teacher. I was worried that the teacher would put a bad taste in my mouth about teaching math. I guess you can call me sick but I LOVE MATH. It is just so fun to teach and to learn. After attending the the first class and speaking with a co-worker, my mind was changed.

So I had a question that I needed the teacher to answer and posted it to the online forum. I waited the requisite 24 hours and still had not heard anything. Kinda perturbed, I talked to a classmate who actually emailed the teacher. The teacher advised her that she will no longer be the teacher.

Okay fine, she gave the other student the name of the new teacher and I got everything resolved. That's right folks, I got all the classes questions answered, posted it to the classroom forum, and made sure that we (the students) were prepared for class. To make matters worse, my "graduation team" was clueless to this even happening!

I HAD TO DO ALL THE WORK THAT THE "SUPPOSED SUPPORT SYSTEM" THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX BRAGS ABOUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING!

Okay so most of you who know me would wonder why i wasnt behind bars for blowing up and wanting to hurt someone... You know what, at this point I really don't care. I have 6 classes left until I student teach and I just want to be done with University of Phoenix. I feel like I am not a student at the University of Phoenix. I feel like the University of Phoenix does not care if I graduate or not. Of all the classes for this to happen with, Mathematics is my favorite subject, and I was truly looking forward to this class and I have been let down yet again by the University of Phoenix.

So now I must answer those of you who say, they are a corporation, of course they do not care. I would agree with you, if they did not boast and pride themselves on the "wonderful student experience..." It goes beyond just a corporation, they control the lives of so many countless individuals.

I am an educator at heart... I truly believe that to be an educator you have to be passionate about learning and about the institution of learning. Educators, and especially the institutions they represent, have an responsibility to help foster the passion of learning within every student. This includes being open, honest and communicative with the student.
